Wyoming Sports Betting Options

Money Line Bets

Bettors can either wager on a team to win or lose a game outright or wager on the point spread. Moneyline bets are often riskier than point spread bets, but they also offer greater potential rewards.

There are several benefits to moneyline betting.

  • First, moneyline bets are simpler to understand and easier to place than point spread bets. There is no need to calculate the pointspread or worry about which side is favored. All you have to do is pick the winner of the game.
  • Another benefit of moneyline bets is that they offer better odds than point spread bets. This makes them a more attractive option for bettors looking for a higher return on their investment.

Point Spread

This betting is a great way to make extra money while watching your favorite sport.

There are a few key benefits of betting the point spread that include:

  • You can make money regardless of the outcome of the game.
  • The odds are typically in your favor, meaning you have a better chance of winning than if you were to bet on the outright winner.
  • It’s a great way to add excitement to sporting events.
  • You can make money by betting against the spread or betting on the spread.

Over/Under (Totals)

In betting vernacular, “over-under” or “totals” refers to wagers placed on the number of points scored in a game by both teams combined.

For example, if a sportsbook posts the total at 47.5, bettors can wager on whether the combined score of both teams will be over or under 47.5 points.

The bettor stands to win money whether the total amount of points scored is more or less than what’s been set.

There are many benefits of over-under betting.

  • The first and most obvious benefit is that you can make money by betting on the games.
  • Secondly, over under betting is a great way to make money on games where you have no opinion on who will win.
  • Thirdly, it can be used to spot profitable betting opportunities.
  • Lastly, it provides excitement that other forms of betting do not offer.

Parlay Bets

In the simplest form, a parlay bet is made when a bettor places two or more bets on a single ticket, with the idea that all chances will win. If any of the individual bets lose, the entire wager is lost. Parlay betting offers a higher potential payout than single-game betting and comes with a higher risk.

For example, you put $10 on two different games: the first game pays out at 3/1 odds if you win, while the second game pays out at 2/1 odds. Your total potential payout for this parlay would be $30 (3/1 x $10 + 2/1 x $10), but if either game resulted in a loss, you would lose your entire original investment of $10.

There are many benefits of parlay betting.

  • The first and most obvious benefit is that you can make much money by correctly predicting multiple outcomes. For example, if you bet on three games and each one of them wins, you would win six times your original bet. The odds are multiplied together when you make a parlay bet.
  • Another advantage of parlay betting is that the payouts are usually much higher than if you were to place the same bets individually. This means that you can win much money with relatively small bets.
  • Finally, another advantage of parlay betting is that it can be used to hedge your bets.

Teasers

This betting is a type of wager in which you combine two or more individual bets into one single bet.

The odds are adjusted in your favor to make a bet more attractive, but you have to win all of the bets to collect on the teaser.

Teasers can be a great way to increase your potential payout on a single bet, and they can also be used to reduce your risk on a wager.

The benefits of placing teasers bets.

  • The odds are adjusted in your favor for a reason — because it’s difficult to win all of the individual bets that make up the teaser.
  • Bets you combine still give you a decent chance of winning overall.

Prop Bets

A prop bet is a wager on an event that doesn’t affect the game’s outcome. For example, you might bet on how often the announcer will say “deflated balls” during the Super Bowl broadcast or whether Katy Perry will wear something revealing. Prop bets can be as simple or as complicated as you want them to be, and they can be made on just about anything.

Some people avoid prop bets because they don’t want to risk losing money on something that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. But for most people, prop betting is all about its fun. It’s a way to make the game more exciting and add some extra excitement to the proceedings.

There are several benefits to betting on props.

  • You can make money without knowing a whole lot about the sport in question. Most prop bets are based on superficial things like who will win or how many points will be scored. This makes them ideal for novice bettors.
  • Another benefit of prop betting is adding excitement to a game. When you’re betting on props, you’re not just rooting for your team to win – you’re also trying to guess what will happen next. This can make the game more exciting, even if you’re not particularly interested in the sport itself.
  • Finally, prop betting can be a great way to make extra money. Even if you don’t know a lot about sports, there are still plenty of props available that you can bet on.

Middle Bets

These bets, also known as “in the middle” or “even money,” are bets that have a 50/50 chance of winning. This type of bet typically has a payout of 2 to 1, which means you would receive double your original stake if you win.

For example, if you make a $10 middle bet on black at the roulette table and the ball lands on black, you would win $20 and receive your initial $10 back plus an additional $10 profit. However, if the ball lands on any other color, you will lose your original $10 stake.

The benefit of Middle Bets:

A great benefit of middle betting is that it is less risky than betting on either team to win. If you bet on a team to win, your chances of winning are 50%.

However, if you bet on two teams to lose, your chances of winning are 66%. This means that you have a better chance of winning money by betting on two teams to lose than on one team to win.

Futures Bets

With future betting, you are predicting the outcome of an event that will take place in the future. This could be something like who will win the Super Bowl or who will be the next president.

There are many benefits of futures betting.

  • Futures bets offer more flexibility than traditional bets. You can place bets on multiple outcomes, which gives you more chances to win money.
  • Another benefit of futures betting is that it is easy to understand.

Live Betting

These bets, also known as “in-play betting,” are a type of wagering where punters can place bets on sporting events as they are happening. For example, bettors can bet on different aspects of the game, such as which team will score next, how many goals will be scored, and the final score.

Live betting is available through most online bookmakers and allows customers to bet on sporting fixtures worldwide. In-play betting can be a risky proposition as odds can change rapidly based on the action taking place on the field. However, it can also be fun and provide some exciting moments for bettors.

There are plenty of benefits to betting on sporting events as they unfold in front of you.

  • Perhaps the most obvious benefit is that it allows you to capitalize on in-play opportunities as they present themselves, rather than waiting until the event is over to find out how you would have done. This can often lead to increased profits, as specific markets (such as Next Goal) can move considerably during a match.
  • In addition, live betting can add an extra layer of excitement and tension to proceedings, as you never quite know what will happen next. This makes for a much more engaging experience and means that even if your team or player is losing, you still have a vested interest in the game.

Points Betting

This betting is a form of gambling where participants stake points instead of money. The points can be accrued in several ways, but the most common is by earning them through regular gameplay.

In some ways, points betting is similar to casino games like blackjack and roulette, as players can use their points to gamble on different outcomes.

However, some essential differences make points betting attractive for many punters.

The benefit of point betting is:

Perhaps the most significant benefit of points betting is that it allows players to gamble with what they can afford.

Unlike traditional sports betting, where punters need to risk large sums of money to have a chance of winning big, players in points betting can bet as little or as much as they want.

This makes it an excellent option for those new to gambling or who don’t have much money to spare.

Here is what has been going down in the state of Wyoming in regards to sports betting.

2020

The House floor rejected the bill just 16 days later, by a 27–32 vote.

This bill would have permitted an unlimited number of sports betting licenses at an initial cost of $20,000 and an annual charge of $10,000. In addition, sports betting income would have been taxed at 16 percent.

Walters wasn’t sure how the vote would end since many voters were on the fence about whether to vote for or against the bill. Four of those voters, he said, ultimately voted no.

The casino-focused populace was not as interested in expanded gambling this year, but a close vote indicates there might be a different turnout next year as it has in previous years.

2021

Rep. Tom Walters again proposed a measure that would allow legal sports gambling with HB 133. Initially, the House voted against the bill but then reconsidered it and passed it.

Among the shocks of the 2021 legislative session was the fast passage of the bill. However, the Senate voted on the issue quickly, and Gov. Mark Gordon signed it into law in April.

The Wyoming Gaming Commission quickly established rules for an October 2021 launch.
